Frequently asked questions
How do I start the free trial?
The 7-day free trial starts when you tap Start free trial in Chat or Settings (or redeem the Google Play trial offer when available). It does not silently start just because you installed the app.
How do I subscribe or cancel?
Subscriptions are managed entirely through Google Play. To subscribe, tap the upgrade prompt in the app. To cancel, go to Google Play → Subscriptions → MiAi and cancel before your renewal date. Deleting the app does not cancel billing.
How do I restore purchases?
If you reinstall MiAi or switch phones, sign in to the same Google account you used to subscribe. Your subscription status will be restored automatically when the app checks Google Play.
Why does MiAi need the microphone?
The microphone is used for Talk mode, Live Translate, voice notes, and Record Conversation — only when you start a session. MiAi only records when you start Record Conversation. That session can continue in the background with a notification until you stop it. Talk and Live Translate run only while you are using them.
Can MiAi analyze a photo I take?
Yes. In Chat, tap + → Take Picture to Analyze. MiAi describes the important facts, answers follow-ups about that photo, and can edit it when you ask.
Does Talk work with Bluetooth headphones?
Yes. When a headset is connected, Talk and Record Conversation can route mic and speaker through it.
How do I move to a new phone?
In MiAi settings, create an encrypted backup file protected by a passphrase you choose. Transfer that file to your new phone (via cable, cloud storage, or any method you prefer), then restore it in MiAi on the new device using your passphrase. Keep your passphrase safe — if you lose it, the backup cannot be opened.
How do I delete a chat or all my data?
To delete a single chat, open it and use the delete option. To remove all local MiAi data, use the "Delete all my data" option in Settings. You can also uninstall the app or clear app storage in Android Settings. See our Delete my data page for full instructions.
Is my data sold?
No. MiAi does not sell your personal information. Your chats and memories are not used for advertising. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
